Data breaches might happen sooner than you think. They may result in reporting obligations vis-à-vis the supervisory authorities and notification obligations vis-à-vis the data subjects. Depending on the seriousness of the risk that has occurred with respect to the data subject, action has to be taken without undue delay and, where possible, within 72 hours after the breach has become known – even on weekends and holidays.
We offer a reporting hotline for data breaches that can be contacted by your data protection coordinator when he has been notified of a suspected data breach. In the event that our analysis shows that a reportable data breach has occurred, we will support you in the fulfilment of the reporting and/or notification obligation. This way, should such a scenario occur, you can ensure to take action within the prescribed period.
